Boost is for visibility windows: for example when you want more relevant people to notice you this week, or around an event. Compliment is for a specific person and a more thoughtful opener.

If you already met someone in a real scene, Compliment is usually the more natural follow-up. If you are not responding to a specific person yet, Boost is the broader tool.
